GENTS ALTERATIONS & TAILORING
A suit that fits properly makes all the difference, and our tailors know exactly how to get it right. Whether you need a jacket taken in at the waist, sleeves shortened to show just the right amount of cuff, or trousers hemmed with or without turn ups, every alteration is carried out by hand with real attention to detail.
We also take care of the everyday repairs that keep your wardrobe going, from replacing broken zips and sewing on buttons to mending torn pockets and relining coats. For something truly your own, our bespoke tailoring service lets you create a suit, jacket or shirt made to your exact measurements, with expert advice on cloth, cut and style along the way.

LADIES ALTERATIONS
From your favourite pair of jeans to a special occasion dress, we’ll make sure everything you wear fits you perfectly. Our seamstresses can shorten or lengthen hems, take in or let out dresses, skirts and trousers, adjust straps and necklines, and taper sleeves for a neater finish.
Evening wear, prom dresses and ball gowns are handled with extra care, as are delicate fabrics like silk, lace and chiffon. We also look after the little repairs that are so easy to put off, such as replacing zips, fixing dropped hems and repairing linings, so the clothes you love can stay in your wardrobe for years to come. Simply try everything on in our fitting room and we’ll pin it to perfection while you’re with us.

BRIDAL ALTERATIONS
Your wedding dress should feel like it was made just for you, and our experienced bridal seamstresses are here to make that happen. We take the time to understand the look you’re after, then carefully adjust the fit, whether that means taking in the bodice, shortening the hem, adding a bustle for the dance floor or reshaping straps and sleeves.
Fittings take place in our fitting room at the Newcastle showroom, where you can relax and take your time. We’d suggest booking your first fitting around two to three months before the big day, so there’s plenty of time to get every detail right without any last minute stress. We alter bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride outfits and groomswear too, and once the celebrations are over, our wedding dress cleaning service can take care of your gown so it stays beautiful for years to come.

CURTAIN ALTERATIONS
Moved house, or found the perfect curtains that just aren’t the right size? Our curtain alteration service will make them fit your windows beautifully. We shorten and lengthen curtains, adjust widths, add or replace linings including blackout and thermal, and change heading styles, so a pencil pleat can become an eyelet or pinch pleat if that suits your room better.
We can also alter valances, cushion covers and other household furnishings, and repair worn or split seams to give tired curtains a new lease of life. And if they need freshening up too, our curtain cleaning service will have them looking as good as they fit.

SCHOOL UNIFORM ALTERATIONS
Children grow fast, and school uniform rarely fits perfectly straight off the shelf. Our seamstresses can shorten blazer sleeves, take in or let out waists, and hem trousers and skirts to just the right length. Where we can, we’ll tuck the extra fabric inside the hem rather than cutting it away, so it can be let down again as they grow and the uniform lasts that bit longer.
We also take care of the everyday wear and tear that comes with school life, from replacing broken zips and sewing on buttons to patching worn knees, mending torn pockets and darning holes in jumpers. School badges and crests can be stitched neatly onto blazers too. The summer holidays get very busy, so we’d recommend bringing uniform in early to have everything ready well before the first day of term.

NAME TAGS
Every parent knows how quickly jumpers, PE kit and coats go missing at school. A clearly labelled item is far more likely to find its way home, and that matters even more for boarders, whose whole wardrobe lives away from home for the term. Whether you have woven name tapes or iron on labels, we’ll attach them neatly and securely to every item, from blazers and shirts to socks, sports kit and bedding.
Sewn in name tags stay put through wash after wash, so you won’t be replacing peeling labels halfway through the year. Simply drop off your child’s uniform list along with the name tags, and we’ll make sure every piece is labelled and ready to pack, saving you an evening with a needle and thread.
