Our Specialist Cleaning Process

Sheepskin needs a delicate touch, so we never just put boots in a washing machine. Every pair goes through the same careful process:

• Inspection. We check your boots over and look closely at any stains, marks or worn areas so we know exactly what each pair needs.

• Brushing. We gently brush away loose dirt and dust and get the suede ready for cleaning.

• Deep cleaning. We clean the outside and the fleece lining by hand with a specialist sheepskin cleanser. It lifts dirt without stripping the natural oils that keep the skin supple.

• Drying and reshaping. We stuff the boots so they hold their shape, then let them dry slowly at room temperature, away from direct heat, so they don’t shrink, harden or crack.

• Finishing. Once they’re dry, we brush the suede to bring back its soft nap and lift the fleece so it feels plush and cosy again.

How often should I have my UGG boots cleaned?

If you wear them regularly, a professional clean once or twice a season works well. The best times are the start of winter and again before you put them away for summer, because cleaning them before storage stops stains and odours from setting in.

Can you remove salt stains?

Yes. Salt marks are one of the most common things we treat. The sooner they’re cleaned the better, because salt left too long can dry out sheepskin.

Will my boots shrink?

No. We clean by hand and dry slowly at room temperature, so your boots keep their size and shape.

Can you clean the fleece lining?

Yes. Every clean includes cleaning and freshening the inside, and we brush up the fleece so it feels soft again.

Can I wash my UGG boots in the washing machine at home?

We wouldn’t recommend it. Machine washing and tumble drying can shrink sheepskin, leave the suede stiff and patchy, and loosen the glue that holds the soles in place.
